Matthew’s composition is mostly an upbeat message that symbolizes the importance of not dwelling in the past, as well as not living in the future. However, throughout the piece it is clear that those visions of a younger self never go away. These visions are very important to Matthew because believes that when you grow up, you realize the reality of the world we live in. As a young adult you come to sense all the problems in our world. The more you are aware of, the more hope and desire you have to put an end to the problems of our world that affect us directly. The piece ends on a minor chord because it symbolizes the reality of the world we live in, which becomes more visible as we grow.
